RITTIPO...
(b.1991) is a London + Bangkok based European composer and saxophonist interested in mixed art, installations, and acoustic and electronic composition. Drawing on facets of his Anglo-Thai heritage, Rittipo creates vibes and sounds, caressing the fringes of the experimental, classical and rock worlds.
His playing has been sourced by the bands Public Service Broadcasting and Bastille to play on their most recent releases. Touring with these bands (and other ensembles) has seen Rittipo perform on stages at Glastonbury, Latitude, Pukkelpop, Rock im Park and Rock am Ring as well as other notable British and European venues: O2 arena, Berlin Konzerthaus, Roundhouse, Brixton Academy and most recently the Royal Albert Hall.
Rittipo is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in 2014 completing an MMUS in composition (with distinction) supported by the Leverhulme Trust; previous to this Rittipo attained his undergraduate degree in classical saxophone.
Pals with Oliver, the collaboration of Rittipo's techniques and Oliver's writings has cemented Leith's A Day at the Spa into classical saxophone repertoire after having been awarded a British Composer Award (2016) under the small chamber category.
